New Healthcare Transport Options Helpline – pilot service in West Yorkshire
  A new helpline will connect patients with transport providers in West Yorkshire.
The Healthcare Transport Options Helpline (03331 300517) is a service for people who aren’t eligible for NHS-funded transportation but who may need support getting to appointments. The helpline service is free to patients, but they may need to pay the transport provider for the journey.

Patients will be signposted to a range of transport options including: Public transport Voluntary and community transport Quality-assured taxi providers The helpline is staffed between 9.00 and 13.00, Monday to Friday and an out-of-hours voicemail service is also available. Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) is hosting the service.

Please see the enclosed leaflet and poster to promote the helpline. These will shortly be delivered to GP practices. Please display the posters  and put the leaflets in a patient accessible area. Please also see attached a digital asset which can be shared on TV screens.

This helpline is being piloted as part of the recommendations from the national review into non-emergency patient transport services, carried out by NHS England and NHS Improvement in August 2021.
