Covid Symptoms

We Are OPEN

Coronavirus has led to a number of changes for our practice but we are very much still open and seeing patients. To help keep everyone safe and minimise the risk of infection we are closely monitoring who comes into our building at Gibson Lane. As a result, we have decided to continue to keep our door locked for the timebeing. However we ARE still here for you. Most of our consultations continue to be by video or phone. But if we do need to see you then we will ask you to come to the surgery – we will ask you to wait in your car or in the car park until we are ready to see you. We have an intercom at the door which is constantly monitored by our reception staff. They are ready to help you access the building. We continue to carry out routine and preventative care such as cervical screening tests, children’s immunisations and reviews for people with existing health conditions. If you receive a reminder about such an appointment please get in touch with us and we will arrange it for you. We are dealing with all other requests as fast as we can, but please bear with us if some of these take a little longer than usual.

Flu Vaccinations for patients 50 and 64 year olds.

Please note that people in the 50-64- year old age group will NOT be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure the people who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the Flu Vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

PRACTICE FLU CLINICS OCTOBER 2020

We are in the final stages of preparing for our first Saturday flu clinic of the season later this week on 3rd October. Please be aware that due to the coronavirus pandemic, our clinics will be running in a different way to previous years. Please only attend the flu clinic if you have already booked an appointment. We cannot vaccinate anybody without a prebooked appointment. We will have staff on hand to direct and advise you where to go. Both our front and back car parks will be closed to the public during our Saturday flu clinics in order to allow for social distancing of patients attending. Please consider if you are able to walk or cycle to the practice as parking nearby may be difficult. If you do have to drive, please be respectful of our neighbours when you park your car. It is likely that you will have to queue outside – the weather may not be kind to us so please come prepared! You will have to wear a face mask when you enter the building. Our staff will be wearing PPE and will be asking screening questions regarding coronavirus before you enter the building. If you are unwell please do not attend – we will happily re-arrange your appointment for you.
