Course content:

The Apprenticeship framework comprises of:

·         The Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration consists of six mandatory Units and a choice of optional units from a variety of themes. These are designed to combine both the Knowledge, understanding and the competence of the apprentice. (Assessments, Observations and assignments)

•             Employee Responsibilities and Rights (workbook)

•             Personal Learning and thinking skills

•             Functional Skills at Level 1 (project and tests)

Working Week

Total Weekly Working Hours: 34, these will be spread over 5 days.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

To work on set hours between Monday to Friday – 8am to 6pm. Occasional weekend will be required as part of your set hours.

Weekly Wage £3.96 per hour ( £134.64 per week)
Full Job Description

Your duties will be to provide an effective admin support service to the doctors, practice manager and other staff of the practice.

Patient notes and correspondence:

·         Retrieve patient records as required

·         Providing support to the business manager with regarding to the booking of locum GPs.

·         Ensure records are kept up to date

·         Ensure that provisions for refreshments are available for GP and other meetings, and keep the waiting room tidy.

·         Undertake any other addition duties appropriate to the post as requested by the partners or the practice manager.

Administration Duties

·         Responsible for providing an administrative service for the practice ensuring that all blood pressure monitoring form are calculated and enter correctly

·         Working out of blood pressure results and recording the same.

·         Dealing with Practice emails by distributing them to the correct destination or printing them as necessary.

·         Responsibility for dealing with text messages received from patients.

·         Scanning documents

·         Responsible for incoming and outgoing post; including distribution to the correct department/staff

·         Liaising with and maintain effective communications and teamwork with GP’s and practice staff to ensure smooth day to day running

·         Any ad hoc duties as may be required, appropriate to the post

·         Ensuring that patient and practice confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with Data Protection Act.

Other Tasks

·         Clear rooms after surgeries

·         Maintaining the records room ensuring that patient record, financial record or other items are stored correctly, neatly and are easy to locate.

·         Monitoring of stationery and other supplies as required.

·         Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the practice manager.

Qualifications Required

GCSE grade C /4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) is essential.

Important Other Information Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
