Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)- Changes from 1st August 2017
EPS enables prescribers – such as GPs and practice nurses – to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser (such as a pharmacy) of the patient’s choice. This makes the prescribing and dispensing process more efficient and convenient for patients and staff.
As from 1st August ALL prescriptions (except controlled drugs & dispensed at Monk Fryston Surgery) will be sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy.
Please notify your surgery of the name and location of the pharmacy you would like to collect your prescriptions from, so that your record can be updated.
The Practice is running a campaign to promote this service at the moment by sending out text messages, ringing patients and by placing leaflets & posters in the surgery waiting area.
Your local pharmacist may also ask you if you would like to nominate them for the service.
For more information ask at reception, your pharmacy or visit http://systems.hscic.gov.uk/eps/patients
